Watertown Center for Healing Arts, 17 Spring St., Watertown, MA 02472 (near Boston)

Create peace. Choose peace.

Happiness, compassion and the ability to change the world are learnable skills. Come learn them.

The Mediate Your Life Conflict to Connection  intensive is a 4-day workshop that integrates Compassionate Communication (Nonviolent Communication, NVC) with mindfulness and a mediation framework. The training gives you the communication skills and mediation “maps” to create empathic connection and collaboration between yourself and others and with those around you in your personal and work life.

Create a more compassionate and mindful world

The Mediate Your Life program teaches a new way to communicate and a new way to live.
The Mediate Your Life program teaches a new way to communicate and a new way to live.

Look around. The dominant paradigms and language used by many people lead directly to violence, suffering, and unhappiness. But when we change these paradigms by practicing a new language of empathy, compassion and awareness we create peace. We create internal and interpersonal peace, and we help co-create societal peace and well being for all people.

Real skills for real transformation. Four days that will change your life.

In the workshop, you will learn:

  • A mindfulness-based self-connection practice that gives you the ability to return to awareness, presence, and choice when triggered into the body’s Fight-Flight-Freeze reaction at the core of conflict, and be able to respond effectively to difficulty and challenge
  • Elements of empathy for speaking and listening in a natural way that creates connection
  • An interpersonal mediation process that gives you a map to navigate difficult conversations between yourself and others, getting to clear requests and agreements
  • A mediation map to guide you in helping others empathically connect with each other and work together to find new possibilities and solutions

The training is highly experiential and interactive in a warm, supportive, safe learning environment. You learn through real life demonstrations, in-depth practice in dyads and triads, supportive coaching, giving and receiving positive peer feedback, and group sharing. There is the opportunity, if you wish, to work with real situations from your personal and work life, so you not only gain deep skill development, you also benefit from the personal growth and transformation. You also become part of a connected learning community, both during and after the workshop, so you can practice together to deepen and integrate the learning over time in daily life, and receive invaluable support with challenges in your life.

The full Choosing Peace Immersion Program consists of three 4-day intensives. These three intensives are most powerful and transformative when done together as a full year training, however they are designed so that they can be taken individually as stand-alone trainings, and in any order.

Conflict to Connection: October 26-29, 2017
Resolving Conflicts Internally: January 12-15, 2018

*** We recommend that you have training in the basics of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) before attending any of the Mediate Your Life Intensives. A good place to start is reading our foundation book, Choosing Peace. Ask us about finding NVC basics training if you need more information on this. We also recommend that you have or begin some form of mindfulness/meditation practice as preparation for attending.
